Treat Your Skin Pigmentation at Klinik Dr. Bazilah

As I get older, one of my main skin concerns is skin pigmentation. What is skin pigmentation? Well skin pigmentation is a disorder that affects your skin colouring. Your skin tends to get darker or lighter due to the change of melanin. What are the causes of skin pigmentation? The causes could be from sun exposure, skin damage, genetic factors, health issues, skin damages such as acne, and so much more.

You may asked, how many types of skin pigmentation are there? Let me break it down to you for better understanding.

Types of Skin Pigmentation :

  • Hyperpigmentation - darkening of the skin
  • Hypopigmentation - lightening of the skin
  • Depigmentation - lost of pigment

The most common type of skin pigmentation that happens to most of us is Hyperpigmentation, which includes freckles, dark spots and uneven skin tone. I've always been so concern about freckles and dark spots, so when I finally got them, I have been looking for ways to reduce the appearance of my dark spots.

One of the easiest way is to use skincare products such as serum with ingredients such as Vitamin C, Niacinamide and others, also chemical exfoliants such as AHA, BHA, Glycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid and others. And of course, always use sun protection on a daily basis as it is the one that is going to protect your skin from the harsh sun UV rays.

But using skincare products can be time-consuming and the effects could be minimal. Therefore if you are serious to get rid of your skin problems, you need to take an additional step besides practicing good skincare.

Another route you can take is by visiting aesthetic clinics where you can do treatments such as laser treatment. Laser treatment uses concentrated light energy and there are several types of laser treatments. You can always inquire at any aesthetic clinics such as Klinik Dr. Bazilah for more information about skin pigmentation treatments.  The thing about laser treatment is that, you need to keep an open mind about the process, the downtime, how you would look like during recovery process and so much more.

You can consult with their doctors, ask them all the question you have in your mind to get better understanding about the treatments.  But do take note that these treatments are on-going procedures, there will be post treatments to ensure your skin stays healthy, radiant and glowing!
