So here's a story. When I first starting up my obsession on makeup, I never thought that makeup brushes could make such a big difference when applying makeup. I always thought I can just use my fingers because it is convenient and fast. And I even thought of using only the small brushes or sponges that usually comes together in powder foundation or eye shadow palettes. Boy, how was I wrong! As I go deeper into makeup. I discovered that make up brushes can help our makeup to look WAY better than applying with our fingers. It gives our look on point precision, coverage and of course it will blend the products nicely into our skin! I am always in the hunt of good (or even great) makeup brushes so when I found out that Make Up For Ever is bringing in their 75 pieces of Artisan Brushes to Malaysia, heck ya I want to know all about it!

What's so special about these Make Up For Ever  brushes?

Firstly, it is hand made by high qualifies specialist  that goes through 25 different production steps and involving 30 people in the manufacturing process. But wait! 50 quality checks has to be made before the brushes is safe in the hands of their consumers! Now that to me is a definite exclusive and premium craftmanship!

Can you see the difference? The right side of my face looked completely well blended, compared to the left side. I used Aqua Cream Eye Shadow on my eyelid, and you can see that the colours did not blend well on the left side of my face.

Assalamualaikum and hello my love! I am back with a skincare review and I am excited to share with you girls this product that I have been trying out for quite sometime. If you noticed, I have been posting about ORIDERM products in my blog since last month and finally I am able to give out my own thoughts about the 2 skincare sets from ORIDERM which are the Teenager Set and Anti-Ageing Set. In this blog post, I am going to review the Teenager Set first because it is the first set that I tested out. Curious to find out what I think about it? Well keep on reading dearies! :)

As you can see the cleanser shade is transparent (no colour) and the texture is quite thick. As you mix it with water, you will get subtle foam. It is mildly fragrant which I kinda enjoy because the scent is fresh and somehow it gives me cooling sensation. I start off by cleansing my face with Clear Mild Wash. While washing my face, I can sense that the product really goes into my skin. As I wash it off, my skin feels cleaner and fresher. Pat dry and we can continue to the next step.

The last step is the  Clear Repair Essence. The texture is almost the same as the cleanser which is thick and it is also transparent (no colour). It has a mild fragrance and have the same cooling and refreshing feel to it. The application method is same as the Clear Balancer, I apply it on 5 spots on my face (forehead, left and right cheeks, nose and chin). It is quite tacky when I massaged it into my neck and face. However after patting and massaging it, my skin has become smooth and supple! Love it!

The reason I tried the Teenager Set first is because my skin has been acting up so badly. I have this tiny bumps on my face and redness is inevitable. It was so annoying to the extend I don't even know what to do. At first I was skeptical on trying this set because it is a teenager set and I am no longer a teenager! *HAHAHA*  Just by looking at the name, I would assume that this set would be great for oily skin. I have combination skin and not oily skin. But since one of the product (Clear Balancer) is ideal to reduce blemishes, I'd give it a go. 

It only took me 4 days for my blemishes and redness to go away, well definitely not all but I can totally feel the difference! I am one happy girl! :) Pimples and blemishes are a big NO-NO for me and I don't want to go through that experience ever again. The fact that it could reduce my redness, it certainly would help to even out my skin tone with continuous usage. ^_^ 

NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow is promised to deliver high intensity effect on your eyes. It can be used dry for sheer and more natural look while you can use it wet for a higher intensity and impact.  It comes with 12 amazing shades.  Lets go over the packaging first. Sleek and stylish. Compact and good news, there's a mirror too. It has the same rubber matte packaging (the usual NARS packaging). It is magnetic and I find it easy to stack on these eye shadows together. You can apply them using NARS Eyeshadow brush #49 which can be used wet or dry and it is retail at RM115.

NARS DUAL-INTENSITY EYESHADOWS :

DIONE

Dione is a metallic champagne beige shade which is highly pigmented. It is a shimmery eye shadow with micro glitter that can amp up any look. The texture is smooth and buttery and it is so easy to blend.  This shade would be great for all over your eyelid and as highlighter under the brow bone and at the inner corner of the eyes.As you can see in the photo above, the shade completely changes when it is applied wet. Wet is more intense and oh so gorgeous and this would be perfect for night look. As for the dry application, this could give brightness to the eyes if you want to create a simple eye makeup during the day.

NARS DUAL-INTENSITY EYESHADOWS :

SYCORAX

Sycorax is a black matte (with a little hint of shimmer) shade that I think has a little bit of green undertone to it. Same as Dione, it is buttery, smooth and easy to blend. The fact that it is so easy to blend, you can use this shade during the day without having to look too 'done'. Great for a soft smoky eye for  a natural look. When you apply it using a wet brush, oh my gosh, the black really stands out and it really packs a punch. If you really want an intense black eye shadow, this is it!

When I combined Dione and Sycorax together, it creates a sliver grey-ish shade which is so pretty! It really brightens up the entire eyes. As an overall evaluation of this eye shadows, I absolutely love the pigmentation and the fact that it is so buttery and easy to blend. If you messed up during the application, you can easily wiped it off and you can redo your steps. As for the duration of wear, I would say it lasts about 6 hours without creasing but make sure to put on eye shadow primer. That is the way to go if you want your eye shadow to stay longer. The NARS Wet/Dry Brush #49 really comes in handy because it really helps the application because the brush really picks up the pigments very well. However, I do notice fall outs when applying Sycorax for my night look. To avoid that, do your eye makeup first before applying your foundation and concealer because you can just wipe off the eye shadows fall outs without interfering with your foundation and concealer.

Okay, so of course I'm going to show you some of my looks with these eye shadows, right? :D I created 2 looks using Dione and Sycorax. One is suitable for Day look while another one is suitable for night look. :)

DAY LOOK

*Dry Application

Apply Sycorax on eyelid, do not cross the crease line.

Using a blending brush, blend it out for a sheer finish.

Take Dione and apply it on top of Sycorax. You can go back and use Sycorax and intensify it a bit at the outer corner and at your eyelid.

Apply eye liner.

And mascara.

Here you go, a simple eye makeup look for day time that only took me 3 minutes including  the eyeliner and mascara. ^_^ I seldom use black shade on my eyes during the day because I find it too harsh. I usually go for dark brown shade. But I'm really liking this soft black and grey-ish look on my eyes. :)

NIGHT LOOK

*Wet Application

 Apply Dione on half of your eyelid (from tear duct to the center). Apply it just below your crease line.

Apply Sycorax from the other half of the eyelid til outer corner of the eye. Create a 'V' shape and drag the shade above your crease line. You can create sort of a winged eye look.

Get Dione and apply it at the center (only) of your eyelid. Pack it on. Get a blending brush and blend out the shade in your crease from the outer corner to 3/4 into your tear duct. Don't go overboard and blend it into your tear duct because you will look like a panda eyes if you do that. :P

Use Sycorax to line your bottom lash line. Connect from the outer corner till 2/3 of your botom lash line. Blend it out. Use Dione on the remaining 1/3 of your bottom lash line and blend it out. Apply Dione under your brow bone and your inner corner to highlight.

Finish it off with a thin line of eye liner (but you can skip this part since the eye shadows are very intense, you can't really see the eye liner) and also mascara. You can add on falsies if you want. 

I love this look because I can see clearly the shade, it is sort of like an ombre eye shadow. The shade starts with Dione at the 1/3 of the eyelid, followed by the combination of Sycorax and Dione in the middle and finished it off with the gorgeous Sycorax at the end. What do you think?
