Sexy Sunday Series # 8 : Fall / Winter Lipsticks

Assalamualaikum and hello darling! In my Sexy Sunday Series today, I am going to share some of my favourite dark and bold coloured lipsticks. I am inspired by the Fall/Winter make up look I have been seeing lately and I thought it would be nice to share my favourite dark and bold lipsticks with all of you. Yes I'm well aware we don't have Fall/Winter season here in Malaysia, but I guess I want all the girls here to be brave enough to rock bold lips! ^_^ I myself is a nude lipstick girl, but I have been enjoying dark-coloured lipsticks for these couple of weeks and I really think it's a great way to add that pop of colour on your looks. I have 7 choices of lipsticks varying from light berries to purple to striking red orange. Enjoy the video! :)

Sexy Sunday Series # 7 : Lip Product Addict Tag

Assalamualaikum and hello everybody! ^_^ How are you this Sunday morning? I hope everyone is having a good mood (yeah I say mood because I know there are people who doesn't like Sunday because the next day is Monday. Weird, but I know there are people like this) *hahaha pagi-pagi merepek* :P Anyway, I am back with my Sexy Sunday Series, talking about my favourite makeup item which is lip products. I decided to do this Lip Product Addict Tag because I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos by beauty gurus (Fleur De Force, Essie Button & Amelia Liana) and have been wanting to do one since last month, but as usual, it got delayed. *Yeah, typical me* Anyway, I am also tagged by the lovely Fatimahearts (thanks dear). Go ahead and check out her blog okay? :) So lets get started, shall we?

1. Favourite Lip Balm / Treatment

L - R : NUXE Eye & Lip Global Anti-Aging Cream, Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub and Burt's Bees Lipbalm in Pomegranate Oil.

It has to be these 3 combos. Yup, these 3 items work like magic and give me the smoothes and supple lips ever! I have a blog post on how to get smooth and moisturized lips using these babies, so click HERE please. :)

2. Best eye-catching red

To be honest, I am not so into red lipstick because I don't really think I look good in red lips. I prefer berry lips or red with orange or berry undertone. That's why Rimmel London Apocalips in Stellar is right up in my alley. The perfect red with orange tone and it looks good on my skin. I have to be careful though after applying this because it is so wet for the first 15 minutes. But after that period of time, it stays on nicely on my lips. It is so gorgeous!

3. Best luxury & best drugstore

I don't own many luxury lipsticks because I find it so hard to decide on what to buy! True story! For example, whenever I go to CD or Chanel, I will swatch and swatch and swatch, then I'll get confuse and I went home without buying anything. It happens all the time because since luxury brands are expensive, I really want to make the right choice when buying. *Panjang pulak bebel* Anyway this Marc Jacobs Lip Gel in Dizzy Spell is so pretty! It is a peachy pink nude shade. It is moisturizing on my lips and it gives the right amount pigmentation of a nude lipstick. I actually used this lipstick for my makeup engagement. :) The packaging is on point with the black casing and magnetic closure. So fancy! :D

For the best drugstore lipstick it has to be Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm. Even though technically it is in a pencil/crayon form, but hey, you get what I mean right? I have nothing bad to say about this product because it is just beautiful. It glides on smoothly, very pigmented and stays on my lips for a long time. I really love the stain effect on my lips. My favourite shade would have to be Unapologetic and Sultry and my least favourite is Mischievous because it looks so patchy on my lips (I have no idea why). 4. Best MAC lipstick

Seriously, MAC Syrup is the one that I reach for all the time. Syrup is a plum/mauve pink shade and it is a Lustre formulation which is a sheer lipstick and leaves your lips moisturized. I love it because it is suitable for everyday use, especially those days when I don't know which lipstick to use. I talk about Syrup all the time, I think you guys had enough already. -_-

5. The most disappointing

I love the shade, seriously I think Bourjois Color Boost in Peach On The Beach is so gorgeous. When I swatched it in store, yeah I know I can rock it. I know it is a glossy finish but somehow when I use it on my lips, oh my gosh... It is just so greasy! On top of that, I really think it smells like sunblock. And the packaging feels cheap. T_T

6. Liner - Yes or No

A definite yes. Lip liner helps your lipstick to last longer, outline your lips so that your lipstick won't bleed out especially if you are using bright lipstick and it also helps to bring out the shade of your lipstick. I have two favourites, the first one is Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in Brown n Nude. It is so gorgeous!! I am so sad that Max Factor is no longer available in Malaysia. I should've buy more. :( Another favourite of mine is the Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip (FULL REVIEW). The lasting power is great and it is waterproof! I love these two and yes, they changed my life. :D

7. Best Gloss

I am not a lip gloss kinda gal because I don't like the sticky feeling on my lips. *sikit ok lah* but too much of that makes me uncomfortable. NYX Butter Gloss is my favourite because it is not sticky at all! The fact that it smells caramel buttery goodness, yeah count me in. I only have one which is this one, named Eclair. I went to Sephora so many times but it seems like they are not gonna restock it. Why?? I need moreeeeeeee!

8. Something extra

I can talk about anything for this question so I choose to talk about my favourite shade of lipsticks which is nude! I am obsessed with nude lipsticks and I just can't get enough. If you want to buy me a lipstick, just make sure it is in nude shade, okay? :P Anyway, I want to share with you my top 5 nude lipsticks. :)

Max Factor Burnt Caramel is a brownish nude. It is definitely my lips but better (MLBB) shade. I just can't get enough of this lipstick. Again, I should've bought back ups. :(

Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge is a mauve nude that has an awesome staying power since it is waterproof. It is also MLBB shade that compliments my skin tone. The only down side that it is drying, but I don't really care about that because I will use the clear lip gloss to make it less drying.

Burberry Lip Cover in Tulip Pink is a pink nude shade. Besides the luxury and chic packaging, the lipstick is indeed moisturizing. Check out my FULL REVIEW on this lipstick.

Face Of Australia Lip Quench in Lychee Crush is a pale pink nude. I look wash out when I use it on it's own, that's why I mixed it up with other nude lipsticks or lip gloss to make it slightly more pigmented. Read my FULL REVIEW on this lipstick.

MAC Shy Girl is my first ever MAC lipstick. It is a peachy nude lipstick. Since it is a Cremesheen formulation, it does moisturizes my lips and provides a true pigmentation. I really love this lipstick, the perfect peachy nude lipstick.

Sexy Sunday Series # 6 : NARS Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Bimini

Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies! Welcome back to my Sexy Sunday Series and yes, I'm still talking about NARS! ^_^ If you haven't read my first review and makeup tutorial on Tropical Princess Duo Eyeshadow and Malacca Single Eyeshadow from the NARS Summer Collection 2014 'Adult Swim', please click HERE first because this is the second part where I complete the whole look. Since this is my Sexy Sunday Series, we are gonna talk about NARS Larger Than Life Bimini Lip Gloss. Without wasting any time, lets jump right in! :)

LARGER THAN LIFE LIP GLOSS (BIMINI)

A sleek lip gloss tube.

The applicator is not the usual doe-foot type, this is more like a brush. A thin brush which adhere to the product pretty well. I usually do not prefer this type of wand because I think it's harder to control but surprisingly this works great as I have better control while applying.

Larger Than Life Bimini Lip Gloss is described as sheer pink guava shade shimmer particles. From what I see, it is sheer pink gloss with micro shimmers that glides smoothly on the lips. It feels sticky but surprisingly I feel comfortable using it on my lips. Sticky lip gloss is a big NO NO for me but this particular lip gloss does not feel as heavy as any other sticky lip glosses. It gives my lips the glossiness and shine I want and at the same time it plumps up my lips. It stays on the lips pretty well, I would say at least 2 - 3 hours without drinking and eating. I feel my lips well moisturized during that period of time.

As you can see the photo above, NARS Larger Than Life Bimini Lip Gloss is almost the same as my natural lip colour. Hence the lip gloss enhances my lip colour by giving me the glossy and shine effect. But can you see how the lip gloss plumps up my lips? ^_^ The great thing about this lip gloss that it goes so well with other lipsticks too.

Now lets take a look how would it look like if I pair it with the eye makeup look I did using the Tropical Princess Duo Eyeshadow and Malacca Single Eyeshadow! ^_^

I am using Larger Than Life Bimini Lip Gloss on my lips, without any lipstick. Neutral lips, suitable for the day. I think I look fresh in this photo. :D

I paired the lip gloss with my nude lipstick, love this look! The lip gloss really gives my lips the shine and glossy effect I want. The lip gloss enhance the actual colour of the nude lipstick and take it to the next level.

Using my red lipstick to amp up the look! Love the lip gloss on top of my red lipstick, great way to spice it up a little! :D Somehow I think the eye makeup goes very well with this bold lips! :)

Sexy Sunday Series # 5 : Make Up For Ever - Aqua Lip

Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies! I am back with my Sexy Sunday Series.Wheeeee! ^_^ And today I am going to talk about lip liner. What do you think? Do you use lip liner before applying your lipstick? I used to skip the lip liner step simply because I don't feel the need to use. I always thought it is tedious and also no point at all. Until...... I tried it myself, and heck ya, I definitely love it!

Why I love lip liner?

~ Prevent my lipstick from bleeding (smearing out of your lip liner)

~ Make my lips fuller

~ My lipstick shade becomes more opaque

~ Helps my lipstick stay on longer

If you read my post on MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Collection 2014, then you might have noticed that I included these babies in that post. Introducing, MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip, it is 100% waterproof, non-transferable and long-lasting power on the lips. It is also water and saliva resistant therefore you can actually apply in on your entire mouth without getting it fade away. Originally, the range has only 20 shades but now with the new collection, 5 more shades is added into the family. Lets take a look at the swatches of the new 5 shades, shall we? :)

The typical design of a lip liner.

This is not a retractable lip pencil, therefore you need to sharpen them.

25 C : Orange Red (As the name said, it is a red lip liner with orange undertone)

21 C : Cool Pink (Pink with blue undertone)

24 C : Vintage Coral (Bright coral, it actually reminds me of the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Mischievous

22 C : Tender Pink (combination of pale pink and mauve)

23 C : Apricot Pink (a lighter version of the Vintage Coral 24 C, it is a soft coral)

As this is a waterproof product, I definitely want to test it out. When I let running water splashing on these swatches, the colour did not fade away, they do not budge at all. So yes, I guarantee this would be perfect for our hot weather and also if you are planning to go swimming.

I also tried to rub it off with water (I would say I tried rubbing it 50% of my strength power) and yeahhh the swatches are still there (photo below).

I tried again rubbing off with water and with the determination to rub EVERYTHING off completely, and yes I succeed.

Well of course it will disappear if you are rubbing it off like a crazy woman (like what I just did). But, NOBODY would be rubbing their lips as hardcore as what I did right? The point is that in the beginning I just want to show that the lip pencil won't budge if it is under running water, however if you rub like mad woman, yes it will rub off. I just want to make it clear so that no one would come back to me and say "Why this one when I rub off hilang???" -_-

I love this lip liner because it creamy and it glides smoothly on my lips. I find it easy to use to shape my lips because of the creamy texture of the lip liner. The shades are pigmented therefore the outcome on my lips will be almost the same as the swatches on my wrist. However it does emphasize the lines on my lips but as soon as I apply my lipstick, the lines disappear. The staying power is good because I remembered it lasted at least 6 hours of eating and drinking (it leaves very nice stain on my lips). The only drawback is that it is expensive for a lip liner which is not retractable. But taking the waterproof and the awesome staying power the Aqua Lip provides, I think it is worth to try it out if you really don't like to re-apply your lipstick and if you want something good for our hot weather here in Malaysia. If you are really interested to try it out, I would suggest for you to buy one shade that is really close to your natural lip colour because you can use the lip pencil for any lipsticks. For example, among the 5 shades, I would go for 22 C (Tender Pink) because my lips are more to pinkish mauve shade. They have the existing 20 shades too, you can click HERE for other shades selection. I hope this review helps if you are looking for a good, long-lasting and waterproof lip liner. May 2014 Favourites and Highlights

Assalamulaikum and hello girls! :) I have not posted my monthly favourites for several months already, uuhhhh so sorry, I was planning to, but you know sometimes life gets in the way. T_T *hahaha* Anyway, I usually limit myself 5 favourite items per month but since I have not posted my monthly favourites in March and April, I am going to include more than 5 items. I have lots of favourites to talk about today so prepare yourself! ^_^

SKINCARE

1. The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth (RM129 for 30ml)

I love this serum. It has criste-marine plant stem cells and beech bud extract that is known to help enhance skin renewal. I have been using this almost everyday for the past 1 and a half month and I can feel that it helps to plump up my skin and makes me look fresher. It is fast absorbing (absolutely love this part) and sinks into my skin immediately, but it is advisable to wait about 1 to 2 minutes before applying moisturizer or sunscreen. It has this pipette applicator that makes it easier to get into the product. I only use about 2 drops for all over my face. I've gone through half of the bottle already, love it! If you are looking for a new serum, check this out.

2. The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso 2 in 1 Brightening Eye Cream (RM115 for 15ml)

My favourite eye cream so far! I have tried so many eye cream and I find it so hard to really like an eye cream. I like this eye cream because of the brightening effect and the refreshed feeling after using it. If you want to watch (video) my review on this eye cream, click HERE.

3. KOSE Sekkisei Lotion Mask (RM170 for 200ml, RM260 for 360ml)

This is the type of mask that you want to use right before you are going out. I use this maybe about 3 hours before going out. It instantly smoothen out your skin and gives your skin this fresh glow. My skin feel so soft after using this, but of course I will save these masks for special occasion only. *hihi*I got this facial masks sheet for a review back in March, therefore I got them in the form of facial mask sheets. The actual product is in a bottle where you need to soak a facial mask sheet into the lotion. Click HERE for my full review on this lotion mask. :)

MAKE UP

4. Burberry Soft Satin Lip Cover in Tulip Pink (RM95)

I have all the great things to say about this, why don't you read my full review and find out why I love it. :)

5. Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in 220 Nude (RM69.90)

Holy grail foundation! Long-lasting, medium to full coverage, not cakey, affordable and the shade matches me perfectly. I love it as much I love the original Revlon Colorstay. They are amazing! Click HERE for full review of this foundation. :)

6. NARS Powder Foundation in Fiji (RM170)

I use powder foundation as my makeup setting powder, it has always been that way. I'd prefer to spend a little more for a powder foundation than a compact powder. I love this powder because of the soft matte finish and it gives me radiant effect on my skin. It does a great job in keeping my makeup in place. Click HERE for full review.

7. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Ravishing (RM68)

I always feel orange coloured lipstick looks so bad on me but still, I want to have those kinda shade in my collection. So I guess the best bet would be a coral coloured lipstick. I chose Ravishing because it is a coral pinkish shade but more towards coral side. But it does look a bit orangey on my lips. I absolutely love it!

8. MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Primer (RM155 for 30ml)

I only have the sample size of this primer. I love it because it makes my skin smoother before applying my foundation. I mostly use this if I want my makeup to stay longer time than usual. I am not sure whether it really helps for that staying power purpose but I surely love how it feels on my skin.

9. MAKE UP FOREVER Aqua Liner in No. 13 Black (RM95)

I am always in the look out for a new liquid eye liner because I'm a liquid liner kinda gal. I love liquid liner compare to any other types of eye liner because it is easier for me to handle. I love this eye liner because I can get precise wing, it is very black and it is 100% waterproof. It sets pretty fast and it is easy to remove. It is on the pricier side, maybe I need to find a dupe for this because I go through liquid liner like nobody's business.

10. Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana (Click for full review and price listings)

I love this. oh yes I do. I love the sweet floral musky scent and I definitely love the packaging. Everybody compliments how great the scent is, so yeah, I'm very happy to have found a new fragrance. Just read my review ok? *hehe*

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH

Oh my gosh, it's already end of May. Can you believe it? Everything pass by so quickly..... Where do I start? Well, May has been awesome. I'm so blessed with all the 'rezeki' that ALLAH has given me. My baking job and my blogging job, ALHAMDULILLAH. That's all I can say. Nothing specific highlight of the month, it has been great from the start. :)
