Assalamualaikum and hello.
When I first got these Maybelline Velvet Matte Lip Liquid Color, I was really excited to test them out because of my love towards matte lipstick. This latest addition in Maybelline's family is a lip product that turns from liquid to matte without compromising hydration for the lips. One look at it, it looks similar like the other version of the liquid lip color which is the Maybelline Lip Polish [READ FULL REVIEW]. The applicator is still the same, the only difference is the black matte cap. The two shades that I got are MAT 4 and MAT 6. MAT 4 is a coral with pink undertone while MAT 6 is a plum/berry. Let's find out my thoughts on these liquid lip color!
The shade MAT 4 is certainly not my colour. I am not a fan of coral because I simply don't look good in coral. Furthermore the shade looks very patchy on my lips so yes this product will settle on your chapped and dry lips. MAT 6 is gorgeous! It does remind me of Maybelline Lip Polish in Glam 6 which I always go for if I want glossy berry lips. Speaking of pigmentation, I would say it gives wonderful pay off. The applicator is perfect because it is easy to use and I used both sides (one for top lips and another one for bottom lips application). Does it leaves my lips hydrated? Yes it does. It gives sort-of like a tingling sensation after the application. It took longer to dry and I actually timed it and it took about at least 10 minutes for my lips to be less glossy. I couldn't ignore the fact that it is still has this shiny effect! After 30 minutes, I finally get the velvet matte lips that I want. Phewwww that's a long wait! It transfers easily so yes it will stain your drinking glass but it leaves nice stain on the lips. It is lightweight on the lips so this is a plus point for me. I really want to fall in love with this, but I just don't like the fact that I need to wait for it to dry. Seriously I need my lips to be matte, fast. The waiting is definitely a turn off. I like it for the colour pay off, easy application and the hydration it gives because we know that most matte lipsticks are very drying. So yeah, that's my thoughts on Maybelline Velvet Matte Lip Liquid Color.
