Healthy Menu at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club

Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies!

We are going to talk about food today. Yippeeee! ^_^ Now who doesn't like to talk about food right? Whenever I got invited to a food review, I would always have a certain expectation for the food to be extra good. Keep on reading to find out what Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club has to offer.

Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) culinary team has come up with a special healthy menu to cater to all its members and customers. Why healthy menu? People nowadays are concern about keeping a healthy lifestyle and for me, the best way to keep healthy is through my eating habit. Do you know that a healthy eating habit is more important than spending your time working out? I know that because I've been there, pushing myself so hard to workout but by the end of the day, what goes in your body matters the most. Executive Chef Arnold Kwok said all the meals are carefully planned and prepared with the usage of fresh and quality ingredients. The culinary team uses fresh and quality ingredients such as unsalted butter, Omega 3 eggs, lean chicken, sea salt and many more.

Golfer's Terrace

Healthy Blended Juices

First up, the healthy blended juices. They have 4 selection of blended juices such as Apple Spinach (RM9.60), Turmeric Veggie Blend (RM9.60) , Mango Berries (RM12) and Citrus Kiwi (RM12). I tried 3 out of the blended juices (photos above) which are the Apple Spinach, Turmeric Veggie Blend and Mango Berries. Out of all the three juices, I prefer Apple Spinach which consists of green apple, spinach, green grape and cucumber It is so refreshing and cooling. But surprisingly the cucumber taste stood out from the rest of the ingredients. As for the Turmeric Veggie Blend, it is a bit too strong for me. But hey, if you love turmeric root mixed with carrots, romaine lettuce, cucumber and lemon, go ahead and try it for yourself. All of the juices is blended to get the fibre because as for your information, fibre is important for your digestion system.

Baked Vegetable Frittata

Frittata is an egg dish, sort of like an omelette but it is baked in the oven. I love this dish! I'm a breakfast person because I believe the day will be awesome if you have a good start, meaning a good breakfast. The ingredients for the Baked Vegetable Frittata (RM15) includes Omega 3 eggs, mushroom, bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, onion, tomato and herbs that provides the perfect taste. This dish will be served with Almond Zucchini Bread and Banana Nut Muffin.

Almond Zucchini Bread & Banana Nut Muffin

Another favourite of mine, the Almond Zucchini Bread (RM12 for 4 slices). It is made out of almond flour, zucchini, Omega 3 eggs, bananas, maple syrups and spices. It taste so good, it is moist but dense, ah I don't know how to describe it. I can nibble on this all day long. :) The Banana Nut Muffin (RM11.50 for 4 pcs) is made out of coconut flour, bananas, homemade almond butter, Omega 3 eggs and spices. They do not use the bleached flour as the main ingredient. Surprisingly both of it tastes so good, you wouldn't even know there was no flour inside.

Tuna Guacamole Salad

If you love tuna, Tuna Guacamole Salad (RM29) might be the one for you. The tuna chunks is mixed with guacamole and wrapped with seaweed wrap. It is served with Omega 3 eggs, tomato, black olives, onions and seasonal salad with the choice of two dressings, Creamy Pine Nut dressings or Olive Oil and Vinegar dressings. I personally not a fan of tuna but I can still eat it nevertheless. It is quite refreshing and provides you the protein you need.

Salmon with Warm Tomato Relish

I'm happy when I saw this. I love salmon dish. Salmon with Warm Tomato Relish (RM36) ingredients are buttered seared fresh Norwegian Salmon, tomato, black olives, onions, capers and basil. The salmon just melts in my mouth and I can really taste the freshness of the salmon. The warm tomato relish provides a bit of sweetness and the capers just brings out the flavours of the dish. The combination of ingredients in this dish goes together very well.

Seared Beef Strip Loin

Seared Beef Strip Loin (RM38 for 150g) is made out of chilled Australian grain-fed beef, mushrooms, steamed vegetables and Cilantro Chimicurri Sauce. Oh my gosh. This is so so so good! I'm a big meat eater. I love meat so when this dish arrived on my table, I just couldn't wait to dig in! The meat is so tender and the juices from the meat is divine. You can have this dish with Cauli-Rice or Sweet Potato Mash. The sweet potato mash is the sweetest and the creamiest I have ever tasted. I finished everything on the plate, squeaky clean. :)

Cauli-Rice, Sweet Potato Mash & Brown Rice

These 3 are the side dishes that you can have with your meal. The Cauli-Rice (RM5 for 80g) is a mixture of cauliflower, onion, sweet potato, chilli flakes and herbs. Sweet Potato Mash (RM5 for 80g) is a mixture of sweet potato, coconut milk and fresh ginger. And of course they have the Brown Rice (RM5.50 for 50g) which is plain steamed brown rice.

Thai Green Curry Chicken

The ingredients for this Thai Chicken Green Curry (RM24) are coconut milk green curry, skinless chicken breast, eggplant, cauliflower, broccoli and fish sauce. The green curry is creamy and it has a nice kick of heat. To me it's not spicy, so this is a great alternatives for those who loves spicy but not too spicy. You can have this dish with either Cauli-Rice or Brown Rice.

Warm Mixed Berries with Coconut Ice Cream

The Warm Mix Berries (RM15) consists of sauteed berries, honey, butter and mint. It is serves with coconut ice cream too. The combination of these two is a party in your mouth. Sweetness and sourness from the sauteed berries eaten togther with the creamy coconut ice cream is the perfect ending for your meal.

Sweet Potato Pie with Coconut Ice Cream

The Sweet Potato Pie (RM12) is a treat for those who loves baked desserts. The pie ingredients are sweet potato, almond flour, almond milk, spices and whipped coconut cream. I kinda think that the crust is a bit hard and I'm not sure if I like the filling. I never had sweet potato pie before so I am not sure how it supposed to taste like.

These are some of the selections that we tried that night. If you are curious about the taste, why don't you come over to Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club to try out the healthy menu?
