A new look for 2015

Assalamualaikum and hello.

Ah, 2015. Here comes the new year resolution you must say. *hahaha* no worries, I'm not gonna bore you with all that but I will tell you now that I wish 2015 will give happiness and success to myself and also to those whom I love deeply, Insyaallah. :) Well, talking about a new year, have you heard of this year's pantone colour? This year's colour is 'Marsala' which is an earthy red wine colour that I bet will compliment most skin tones in makeup wise. No this is not chicken masala that you can get in your Indian restaurant. *hahaha* I just had to say that because whenever I say "Marsala", the image of chicken masala will popped into my head. :P

I think "Marsala" is a beautiful shade. I personally prefer earthy brown red rather than orangey red so I guess you can absolutely be sure that I will be getting tones of makeup products revolving this colour. Anyway, for 2015, I promised myself to be braver and step out of my comfort zone and create something new for my makeup look. In today's post, I am going to show you my new make up look using some of the products that I got from The Butterfly Project Beauty Box. It's not that is totally different, but there's a few changes to make a fresh start of the year.

The makeup items that I received are Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock, Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Berry Sexy, Collection Hotlights Lipgloss in Sparkle and Dolly Wink black liquid eyeliner.

Dolly Wink Liquid black eyeliner has a fine tip brush that's easy to navigate. If you are an eyeliner virgin, this eyeliner will be a great choice because you can easily create thin, thick, winged and any sorts of liner look. The colour is deeply black, does not smudge and waterproof. My rate? LOVE!

Retail Price : RM55.90

For the first time ever, I used my Dior 5 colour palette in Trafalgar (Autumn/Winter 2014 edition). The mixture of gold, wine red and deep purple is quite close to achieve the "Marsala" theme. I used Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner to create cat-eyed look. I draw a thin line at the inner corner of my eyes and dragged the pen until 1/3 of my lower lash line. The eyeliner makes my round eyes to an almond-shape eyes which I really like. It really elongates my eyes and makes it wider.

For the lips, starting off with a coloured lip balm by Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock. It smells like watermelon and it is so moisturizing! It is a pink-coloured lip balm so it will turn your lips to pinky rosy tone. The lip balm will look good on it's own or you can top it off with your favourite lipstick or lip gloss (that's what I'm going to do next). And I think the packaging is cuter than the previous baby lips! :D

Collection Cosmetic Hotlights Lipgloss is one of the best lipgloss I have tried so far because it is not too sticky and the shimmer effect is wonderful. I am vey picky when it comes to lip glosses because I just can't stand lip products that are too sticky because it is so uncomfortable. The led lights and the tiny mirror wins in term of the packaging, so nice!

Retail Price : RM24.90
Availability : Watsons nationwide

A small mirror for the girls on the go.
An adorable feature where lights appear when I open up the tube. Pretty snazzy. :D
I used the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock, and topped it off with Collection Hotlights lip gloss in Sparkle.
Swatches of the lip products.

The last makeup product I received in the box is Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Berry Sexy. It is indeed a beautiful metallic deep berry shade that is perfect for autumn/winter. I am not a fan of nail polishes because of my religion reasons (I need to pray and I find it hard to keep on reapplying) but of course during that 'red flag time' I can use this pretty berry colour. Anyway I have my wedding henna on my nails and I'm not sure the colour will turn out differently. I shall test it out once my henna is gone. :D  The nail polish is retailed at RM9.90 (like seriously???)  and available at all participating pharmacies nationwide.

How do you like my 2015 makeup look? Not to be so perasan, but I really like my eyes like this! :P
