Beauty Review : Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Assalamulaikum and hello lovelies!

Yes, it's here. The most raved, the most 'famous' palette that people have been talking about. It arrives at Sephora Malaysia on Thursday (12th December) and most of my blogger friends has already got the palette in their hands on the first day! Wow, talk about makeup obsession! :D I know there are many reviews about the Urban Decay Naked 3 in the blogsphere, but hey lets read what I think about this palette! ^_^

The packaging is the same type as the Naked 2 palette, except for the structured designs. This rose gold tin-like packaging is durable and shuts properly so there is no need  to worry about bringing it anywhere. Packaging wise, perfect!

4 samples size of Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Original, Eden, Sin and Anti-Aging) is included the box. A nice touch to include this together with the palette but I don't really use eye primer so this is not a big deal.

There are 12 NEW shades in the palette that comes with a dual ended brushes and a large mirror. The brushes is quite nice and I would consider myself using it. The large mirror is a bonus point to have in the palette.

One look at the palette I immediately thought of rosy-pink-gold-neutral kinda look. Yes that's a lot of look! All the shades have pink undertone which can be a plus or a minus to certain people. But personally the shades are beautiful. Lets take a closer look of the shades, shall we? ;)

* I'll divide the shades into 2 parts, the 1st half (6 shades) and the 2nd half (6 shades) of the palette for swatches. Alll description is based on my own opinion. :)

1st half :

STRANGE : Matte beige with a slight pink undertone
DUST : Shimmery pale pink glitter shadow. Chalky and fall out is bound to happen.
BURNOUT : Satin pale pink
LIMIT : Matte pinkish mauve
BUZZ : Shimmery purplish mauve shadow with glitters
TRICK : Shimmery copper with pink undertone

2nd half :

NOONER : Matte brownish pink shade.
LIAR : Satin pinkish mauve
FACTORY : Satin brown
MUGSHOT : Satin cool brown
DARKSIDE : Satin brownish taupe
BLACKHEART : Shimmery black shadow with reddish/coppery glitters

Lets take a look of the overall swatches, with and without camera flash.

Overall there are 3 matte shades, 5 satin shades and 5 shimmer shades. All the shades are highly pigmented and buttery. It is so easy to blend. However Dust is the only shade that is chalky and very glittery. The other 3 shimmer shadows Buzz, Trick and Blackheart does have a bit of fall out but it's not as tragic as Dust. This is definitely a palette for those who are into rosy pinkish gold eye look. It is more to the neutral side but if you take a closer look, you can create a romantic smoky eye. I wasn't sure whether to get it or not in the first place, but after swatching it in Sephora, I fell in love. I am all about neutral eye makeup and the fact this is the rose gold edition, heck ya I want it! I have the Naked Basics and I love it so much especially for travelling. I do not own the original Naked and Naked 2 because I feel they are almost the same. It's a great relieve that the Naked 3 palette is different. The price for this palette is RM188 which is expensive. But looking at the bright side, you only pay about RM15.67 for an eye shadow! And trust me this palette will last you for a very long time. And a BIG thank you to my bf for getting it for me. You made me one happy girl. ^_^ LOVE YOU!

  5. Would you buy it? My answer is ......... YES YES YES! Hahaha... Masa UD umumkan di IG, terus tertarik sebab warna cantik sangat. Bila tengok Sis Sabby swatches lagi la terpikat. Semua warna fav saya sebab saya jenis makeup natural. Hehe. Akan jadi wishlist 2014 nanti. Satu saja kecewa sikit iaitu primer dalam kadboard tu. Kalau packaging macam primer NAKED 1 lagi ok. Hanya pendapat saja. ;)

  15. This palette is worth 48 euros in Sephora France. If it retails at RM188 I guess that's quite a good price since the money conversion would actually cost a minimum of RM200! Right? I've been wanting to buy this palette but resisted because I have better stuff to spend my money on. So right now, I'm just waiting for the summer sale and see if I can get good discount on that palette. Btw, do you have a tutorial using this palette? :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yup I have 3 tutorials using the paletter, go to this link http://sabbyprue.blogspot.com/search/label/Makeup%20Tutorial

    Thanks for reading! :)
