[Health] : An easy way to start smoothies making

Assalamualaikum and hello lovelies!

Today's topic is going to be a little bit different than the usual beauty stuff. But actually it is a part of becoming a more beautiful YOU. I want to start a series where I talk about health, fitness and such. But please, I AM NOT an expert in nutrition, fitness and all but I just want to share some tips and info revolving health because I believe everyone wants to be healthy right? ;) I've been wanting to start this series since last year but I haven't got the time to really sort it out. And this year, I'm going all the way to create health and fitness awareness among my readers! Are you guys ready for it? Great!! :)

For today I want to share some tips on how to start smoothies making. Yes those yummy fruits and veggies goodness in a cup, made by yourself. I know you might think it's crazy because who got time for that??? But let me show you a secret that will make your life easier. For me a smoothie is a drink that consists of selection of fruits and vegetables where you can include protein powder, nuts, seeds or just about anything you want. You can add almond milk, low fat milk, skimmed milk, water for the liquid part. Add some yogurt to make it creamier. Blend everything in a blender and voila you get yourself a freshly made smoothies at the comfort in your own home. Usually a cup of smoothie will cost you more than RM10 but I want to show you how you can save half of the amount you pay by making it on your own!

Firstly, you gotta go to the groceries and buy the fruits and veggies that you want to put in your smoothies. For this week smoothies mixtures, I bought red apples, bananas, celery, seedless grapes and mangoes.

Then you have to do is to cut everything in medium size chunks. As for the red apples, I peeled of the skin because I don't want the skin in my smoothies. But if you are too lazy to peel it off, it's okay too. After finish cutting everything, get zip-lock bags and start dividing the fruits.

ONE zip-lock bag equals to ONE smoothie.

I basically just mix the fruits however I want. All the zip-locks are not the same, some might have more apples and some might have more mangoes. Totally up to you.

I got 8 packs for the whole fruits! Woohoooo! Now all you have to do is to freeze these fruits packs and use them in 14 days. Whenever you want to have a smoothie, just pop them in a blender, add yogurt and milk or water. Blend blend blend. There you have it, your homemade smoothie! Don't you think it is easier? You can prep everything ahead of time and not to worry about spending so much time in the kitchen peeling and cutting the fruits and veggies.

You want to know how much the fruits cost me? Only RM29! bought a tub of natural low fat yogurt that costs RM7 for  my smoothies too. The total is RM36! Divide the amount into 8 packs and you know what, 1 pack only costs RM4.50! Don't you think it's a good bargain? Furthermore, by making your own smoothies, you know what you are actually drinking! ;)

I hope this tips will motivate you to start eating healthy. You can do it, trust me! I was struggling in the beginning but once I am used to it, it is easy peasy! That's all for now, I will share more tips and healthy recipes in the future. Thank you so much for reading lovelies! ;)

Till then,

xoxo,
Sabby Prue

  4. I use to pack my smoothies ingredient when I was still staying in my student apartment, just like you did. But now I don't get to do it as frequently as I used to because I have to share freezer space with my siblings. Hahaha! But I agree with you. Its such a bargain to do it like this. And delicious too!
